Liberty’s efforts were recognised at the 2023 Mid North Coast Business Awards, receiving Business of the Year, Outstanding Community Organisation, Employer of Choice (under 20) and Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion awards.

Regional Director – Mid North Coast Business NSW Kellon Beard said Liberty’s win represents everything we love about our local business community. “Liberty’s ability to support those in great need is to be celebrated.”

Liberty CEO Kelly Lamb said the awards reflect the hard work of the team, the trust the women and children place in our service, and the support of our community.

“To eliminate domestic and family violence, we must face the challenge together. There is still so much work to be done, and we can’t do it without the incredible support we receive from the local business community,” Ms Lamb said.

“As Winner of Business of the Year, it was pleasing to see a number of social impact organisations like ours represented on the night, highlighting that business success is not just about making money, it is also about making a difference.

“Being named Employer of Choice reflects the value we place on our people and shows that our team are the heart of our organisation. We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing team who show up every day with courage and commitment to face this difficult work.

“The Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion award recognises our commitment to ensuring that everyone who needs our support feels welcome and safe. We know that domestic violence doesn’t discriminate. We’re proud to provide services that are accessible to all members of the community, including those with disability, seniors, young people, LGBTIQ+ people and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

“Receiving the Outstanding Community Organisation award tells us that our community greatly values our important work, that the women and children we walk beside are seen and believed. We are ‘Outstanding’ because we are motivated by the women and children who share their stories with us and committed to walking beside them on their journey to restoring their dignity, self-determination and safety,” Ms Lamb said.

Winners of the 2023 Mid North Coast Business Awards will now represent the region at the State Business Awards to be held in Sydney on the 9th November.
