Who We Are

About us

Liberty Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services is a registered not for profit in the Port Macquarie Hastings region. Since 1980 we’ve supported women and families affected by domestic and family violence and homelessness.

The organisation began as the Hastings Women and Children’s Refuge Inc. over forty years ago and has evolved to offer a wide range of services for the community.

In recent years we’ve expanded our work in preventing domestic and family violence in the community and developed Men’s Behaviour Change programs, while remaining dedicated to support and empower women and children.

What we do

At Liberty we take a whole-of-family and whole-of-community approach – while remaining focused on our central goal to keep women and children safe.

Empower women and children to find safety

Our focus is to help families through every stage of their journey towards safety. We help women in crisis secure a safe place to stay through services and support.

Educate through prevention programs

Our goal is to eliminate domestic and family violence in the local community through training, prevention and education programs.

Engage community to create change

Our aim is to increase awareness and prevent domestic and family violence. Liberty partners with organisations and the community to foster understanding and change.
