At the Business NSW Mid North Coast Regional Awards night on Friday 20 September, Liberty proudly accepted the Outstanding Community Organisation Award for the third time, after taking it home at the Mid North Coast and Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards in 2023.
CEO Kelly Lamb said in FY 2023-2024, Liberty supported 2,802 women and children in the local community on their journey towards safety.
“We’re proud to lead our community in preventing and responding to domestic and family violence and helping women and children on their journey to recovery and healing. And we’re so grateful that our community supports us and recognises our work,” Kelly said.
“We can’t do this alone. To stop domestic violence requires whole communities to work together in localised, place-based responses. This community approach needs to be supported by funding from all levels of government, commitment and support from organisations and businesses, education in schools, and individuals willing to call out violence-supporting attitudes and behaviours.”
Liberty’s Galbaanbaa Team Leader Abby King received Highly Commended in the Outstanding Employee category.
Abby said the achievement was a reflection of the support, collaboration, and encouragement from her amazing Liberty team.
“Together, we’ve overcome challenges, celebrated wins, and continuously pushed each other to innovate, grow and strive for the best outcomes. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this organisation and I believe that our collective passion to better the lives of women and children is what drives us forward,” Abby said.
